Championing the remarkable career and character of Glenda Hair

What does it take to make a High Court judge, a KC, and an entire Crown Court stop — and listen?

Ask Mrs Hair.

In 1972, Glenda Hair walked into a law firm in Peterborough as a paralegal. No connections. No safety net. Just an extraordinary work ethic and a determination so absolute that the legal profession eventually had to get out of her way.

50+ years later, she leads our Crown Court crime team at Garrick Law. She is a mother. A grandmother. This year, a full-time carer for her mother during a year of profound personal loss.

Not one client let down. Not one flinch.

A Court of Appeal Judge, at the very pinnacle of the Judiciary,  was asked his one professional regret.

His response: "My one regret was never receiving a brief from Mrs Hair."

This International Women's Day, Garrick Law is proud to champion Glenda Hair. Not because it is the right thing to say on the right day of the year. Because she has earned it. Every single day for over many years.

Glenda Hair is an ace juggler. She taught me that it’s possible to be great at work and still treasure family life. I remember how, after a day’s court she’d drop me at the station but on the way we’d regularly stop off at M&S so she could do her weekend family shop. Sorted! | Dame Bobbie Cheema-Grubb
